Katherine Westphal (1919-2018) textile designer and fiber artist born in Los Angeles California and graduated University of California, Berkeley, painting and art history Bachelor of arts, Master of Fine Arts. She also created quilts, dresses, kimonos, and baskets. Katherine was a pioneer of the clothing art movement in the 1960’s and 70’s. Her work is desirable and collected and in permanent collections of the Smithsonian American Art collection and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
