Ruth Simon Bode (1900-1979)

Ruth Simon Bode (1900-1979) Junction, Texas painter and teacher. State of Texas landscape regionalist and rancher who studied at Howard Payne Academy Brownwood, Texas and Trinity University, San Antonio Texas. Member San Antonio Art League, San Antonio River Art group, Sonora Art Club founder. Exhibited (SALA) San Antonio Art League, (TFAA) Tucson Fine Arts Association 1942 sourced artist scarp book Texas A&M University. Noted collectors George and Mary Ann Kornye gallery. Ruth was the mother of my dear friend Edward Charles Bode LT USNR Texas deceased the painting below was from his estate. I helped Mr. Bode reacquire this painting in 1998 shortly before his death.
