Wauneta King (1927-2020)

Wauneta King 1927-2020 Landscape Watercolor Artist Alpine, Texas Regionalist often called the Grandma Moses of the Big Bend. Wauneta exhibited in Marfa, Texas at the International Woman’s Foundation Building 98 and painted in Llano, Texas, and the Big Bend region of Texas. She took art classes at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. Wauneta Texas radio host Tumbleweed Smith featured the watercolorist the “Sound of Texas”. She was also featured by Marfa public Radio in Marfa, Texas during her premier exhibition.
